Flirtatious debuts at Flemington on Cup Day.....

Flirtatious our chestnut daughter of Purrealist debuted on Cup Day in Race 1, the Emirates Air Listed 2yo Fillies race over 1000m, run at 10.20am in the morning.

This was the first event for the Dream Girl syndicates, and a large group of girls ventured to Flemington to watch their little girl compete.

With the help of Emma Freedman, a few mentions on the Today Show, and a nice little article in the Melbourne Herald Sun (See photos), the Dream Girl syndicates had a little bit of publicity.

Flirtatious herself took the day in her stride, and walked around the Flemington mounting yard with the roses in full bloom liked she had been there before.

Flirtatious was ridden by Nicholas Hall, and she gave him a nice feel, even the the experience was very new to her, and will help her mature.

She was beaten for early speed, in a race that suited the speedier 2yo fillies.

She maintained her position at the back of the main bunch until the 400m point, when Nicholas Hall pulled her out for an effort. She looked like she would run home strongly, however the last 100m of the race saw her fitness give out, and she was not pushed to hard after that by Nicholas Hall.

She pulled up shin sore from the slightly hard track, so there were reasons for her lack of effort over the last 100m.

She will be put out for a spell now, and will come back in training after Christmas for another racing campaign.

This did not stop the group of Dream Girls from enjoying an early morning champagne in the owners room, and socialising before enjoying all the festivities of a Melbourne Cup Day
