Abender won his maiden in promising style today at Doomben as a well backed favourite.
Ryan Maloney gave him an excellent ride settling in behind the hot speed in the middle stages of the race.
Abender was right behind the second favourite as they turned for home and quickly punced on the lead at the 200m point and never looked in danger after that.
It was a typical sit and steer job, and he showed that he is a horse with enormous promise
He will spell now and come back for the Queensland Summer Carnival and possibly a Magic Millions race in January will be on his targets!
