Savvy Shields

Savvy is back!

Savvy Shields got back intot the winners circle today at Ballarat in the Hygain Winners Choice BM58 over 1200m.

After an unlucky 6th at Moe last start, which signalled a return to form, she was always in the box seat today, settling just off the leader in a steadily run race.

Jake Noonan summed up the pace nicely and staked the leader steering Savvy to the centre of the track on the straight in the best part of the going, and quickly took control of the race.

Holding off all challenges in the straight, both to her inside and outside, she rallied to win going away by a length, in a race that always looked in her control.

After 9 months without a win, all credit must go to Ash & Amy Yargi for presenting her in tip top condition, ready to race and win, and a 10 out of 10 ride by Jake Noonan, who made sure she was positioned to take advantage of the best track conditions on the day.
